Sverker II Karlsson the Young person ( den yngre ), wire of Charles VII of Sweden, succeeds Knut {{Ier}} without dispute. It rests on the Denmark and his first wife towards 1180 Benedikta (Bengta) is the girl of the Magnat Danish Ebbe Sunesen Hvide, a relative of the powerful whole Archevêque of Lund Absalon. In second wedding towards 1200 Sverker II marries Ingegerd Birgersdotter (1230 †) the girl of very powerful the Jarl Birger Brosa small son of the founder of this same family of Folkungar. She will be the mother of the king Jean {{Ier}} of Sweden.
The November 15th 1205 in order to prevent the claims with the throne of the line of Erik the Saint, the king Sverker II fact of killing with Elgaräs three of wire of Knut Eriksson. The survivor the future king Eric X of Sweden Knutsson flees in Norway. Its return of exile in 1208 is at the origin of the civil war which will result in the fall and the death of Sverker II.
