Suzuki Harunobu

Suzuki Harunobu was a Japanese artist of impression of Wood-block, one of most famous in the model of Ukiyo-e.

He was an innovator, the first to produce copies of full-color (nishiki-e) in 1765, while making obsolete the old styles of two and the copies of three-color. Harunobu employed many special techniques, and has depicts a large variety of the subjects, traditional poetries with the contemporary beauties. As much of artists of its day, Harunobu also produced a certain number of erotic shunga, or images. During its life and a little later much of artists imitated his model. Some, such as Harushige, were even praised of their capacity to forge the work of the large Master.
