Survival is a ONG creates in 1969 whose object is the defense of the rights of native-born people by opinion campaigns, while being based on education, the campaigns and research of funds and by relaying the word of native-born people in the world, in close link with the local indigenous organizations.

Survival was born in reaction in an article of Times, written by Norman Lewis, denouncing the massacres, the flight of the grounds and the genocide in Amazonia. Survival has today sympathizers and relay in 82 countries which seek to help the most fragile and vulnerable populations firstly, generally those of which contacts with the " world extérieur" are most recent.

The French branch of Survival, governed by the law 1901.a created in 1978 by a group of Anthropologue S. His annual report is public and downloadable
