A surgical speciality indicates a practice with aiming diagnoses or Thérapeutique requiring a physical intervention on the human body.

The surgical specialities gather:

  • the Orthopedy and the Traumatologie relates to the interventions on the osseous and muscular system;

  • the visceral Chirurgie relates to the interventions on the abdominal bodies;
  • the digestive Chirurgie relates to the interventions on the digestive tract;
  • the vascular Chirurgie relates to the intervention on the vessels;
  • the Neurochirurgie relates to the interventions on the Cerveau or the Spinal-cord;
  • the Urologie relates to the interventions on the kidneys and the urinary tracts, like on the male genital apparatus;
  • the obstetric Gynécologie relates to the interventions on the female genital apparatus;
  • the cardiac Chirurgie relates to the interventions on the heart;
  • the thoracic Chirurgie relates to the interventions on the lung, the plèvre and the trachea;
  • the pediatric Chirurgie relates to the surgery of the child;
  • the maxillo-facial Surgery, the Ophthalmology, the Otorhinolaryngology, the Plastic surgeon,
etc
