Suresnes
Suresnes is a city of the Hauts-de-Seine in Île-de-France, located in the western suburbs of Paris, on left bank of the the Seine.
It belongs to the urban Unité and urban Aire of Paris. Suresnes is surrounded by Puteaux and Nanterre in North, Saint-Cloud in the South, Rueil-Malmaison in the West and the Seine in the East. Its inhabitants are called the Suresnoises and the Suresnois . Its currency is: No one does not leave Suresnes, which often does not return there.
History
August 1stIn 1844 on the ruins of the abbey of the congregation of the priests of the martyrdom extremely start the building work of the of the Mount Valérien thus making place with religious vocation a military fortress. In 1914 when the war bursts, Suresnes becomes one of the principal centers of manufacture of the Obus. At the time of the second world war, the fort of the Valérien Mount was occupied by German and was the theater of the execution of more than 1000 prisoners and hostages. The memorial of fighting France Valérien Mount is a national place of pilgrimage today.

In July 1980, the ex-first Iranian minister Shapour Bakhtiar escapes an attempted murder in the Neuilly-on-Seine, which cost the life a police officer and a neighbor. Finally, it is in Suresnes (street Cluseret) that he was assassinated in August 1991.
