Synopsis

Carolyn Polhemus, a figure of the office of the D.A. of the County of Kindle, is found assassinated at it. Immediately, its employers, the D.A., Raymond Horgan and his assistant, Rusty Sabich begin the investigation. Horgan, is however encumbered by the question of the renewal of its mandate, which it finally loses with the profit of its subordinate Nico Della Guardia. With its new assistant, Tommy Molto, Della Guardia suspect Sabich of the murder of Carolyn, having discovered that it had been its mistress. Horgan is also turned over against Rusty, which realizes that everyone releases, except for Sandy Stern, her old adversary in the court, which will become its defender during the lawsuit. At the end of the investigation, Stern and its team think that Rusty was trapped by Molto, to gain her station. Then, Rusty Sabich innocent… or culprit?
