Supersolide
The supersolidity is a state Quantique of the matter predicts in 1969 by the Russian theorists Alexander Andreev and Ilya Liftshitz. At very low temperature, the gaps of the crystal lattice of a solid could run out as in a Superfluide. The real existence of this phase supersolide is discussed.
History
In 2004, researchers announce to have created and have observed a phase supersolide in a solid made up of helium 4 cooled in lower part of 175 mK. The experiment was reproduced but presented anomalies what threw the doubt about the real existence of this phase supersolide. In 2007, the measurements based on the diffusion of Neutron S in solid Helium cooled to a hundred millikelvin in order to study the transition from phase seem to confirm that the state obtained is not that envisaged by the theory.
