Hatikvah ( the Hope ) is the National anthem of the State of Israel. He was written in Ukraine in 1878, by Naftali Herz Imber, under the name of Tikvatenou (" Our Espoir"). The music of Samuel Cohen, is inspired by the main theme of the symphonic poem of Bedřich Smetana Vltava .
History
With the first congress world Zionist in 1897, it is adopted as anthem of the Sionisme then it becomes the Israeli national anthem with the creation of the State in 1948. The official law issuing the Israeli national symbols was voted by the Knesset only in November 2004.
It should be noted that it is also the official song of the resistance of the Ghetto of Warsaw to the beginning of the year 1940.
