Superdupont

Superdupont is a French Cartoon created the September 21st 1972 by Jacques Lob and Marcel Gotlib in the n° 672 of Pilote and was then appeared at Icy Fluide. Marcel Gotlib, Alexis and Solé is the principal craftsmen of this Cartoon, even if Daniel Goossens, Neal Adams and Al Coutelis carried out short episodes.

The character

Superdupont is a parody of Super-héros (Superman mainly). Wire of the unknown soldier, it is very patriotic, even chauvinistic, and equipped with Super-capacity S which enables him to fulfill its difficult mission: to defend its country against the Anti-France , a kind of movement sectarian and terrorist of which the single goal is to destroy the country of the Human rights. This movement, is supposed to turn into ridiculous the Paranoïa and the communautarism of some French which regard the foreigner and the unknown as a threat for the France. Also, the physique of Superdupont is it very caricatural, it carries a Béret, Charentaise S, a rod of Pain under the arm, a tricolor belt held by simple a pin ( the pin of national security ), a long blue cape and, on its chest, a round, in which are registered the letters S and D . It practices the Economic patriotism by unceasingly preaching consumption of Vin and Fromage French and while refusing to be drawn with Indian ink.

Evolution of the series

Jacques Lob worked on the scenarios of each adventure of Superdupont and with all the draftsmen whom this series counted. Marcel Gotlib was the first draftsman of this series but, overflowed by its other activities of writer and scenario writer, it stopped and it is Alexis which took again the continuation, Jacques Lob being always of the part. Then Solé, which will sign, with the same scenario writer will arrive, the continuation of the adventures of this superman, very particular. One can also quote other draftsmen as Daniel Goossens which works at Fluide, Neal Adams, a specialist in the Super-héros or Al Coutelis. One notes also appearances of the character in Rhââ GnaGna and Rhââ Lovely of Gotlib (with the Icy Kung-Fu ) or in the Heading-with-brac , of the same author. To finish, Superdupont was exploited with fine policies by the National front, to the great displeasure of Gotlib . This is why the series was stopped in the middle of the Années 1990, but, on an initiative of Lefred-Thouron, the cartoon will include in Icy Fluide; the scenario is signed Lefred-Thouron and Gotlib, the drawing returns, as for him, with Solé, the title should be Superdupont against the axis of the Evil .
