The Tour of Romandie is a cycle race with stages which was founded in 1947 in order to celebrate the 50e birthday of the Union Swiss Cyclist.

The first edition of the Turn, in 1947, joined together 40 runners distributed in ten teams. 4 stages appeared in the program, the traversed total distance was of 755 kilometers.

The edition 2006 was the last organized by the company neuchâteloise IMG, this one finding the demonstration not profitable enough and wanting to concentrate only on the Tour of Switzerland. As of 2007, a new business directed by the former cyclist Richard Chassot will organize the Turn of Romandie, giving up the stages buckles some with the profit of stages on line supporting the discovery of the French country.
