Superbus

Superbus is a group French of Musique Pop rock'n'roll formed at the end of the Années 1990 by Jennifer Ayache. The sound of the group interferes infulences French Rock, of American rock'n'roll of the Années 1950, 1960 and 1980 as well as Punk California N.

Superbus recorded three albums studio in eight years of existence, of which Wow , left in October 2006.

History of the group

Formation (1999)

Returning of a one year stay of the the United States in 1999, Jennifer Ayache (girl of Chantal Lauby, ex-member of the Null ) seeks musicians to form a group. It has been indeed familiar with the music, playing of the battery for its nine years, then of the guitar as from thirteen years. It meets Michel Giovannetti (Guitariste) and François Even (Bassiste) which knew themselves already, being members of another group. They play all the three, accompanied by another Guitariste and a Batteur.

The power is not on with the latter and they are replaced by Guillaume Rousé (beater), put in contact with the group via David Salsedo (realizer of the group and incidentally singer of Silmarils) and Patrice Focone (guitarist) met by the group in a room of repetitions.

The group from now on is formed.

Origin of the name

The name of the group, “Superbus”, was chosen by Jennifer Ayache. It means in “proud” Latin, “insolate”, “superb”, “shining”, “splendid”. It is by traversing a Latin dictionary of that Jennifer Ayache found the name of the band (the reproduction of the article of the dictionary appears besides on first page of the booklet accompanying the first album by the group). For the anecdote, the group was to be initially called Twiggy.

On the road of success (2002 -)

After some scenes, Superbus leaves in 2002 its first album entitled Aéromusical , produced by the label Mercury. With a pop sound refreshing rock'n'roll the group is encensé by the specialized press. Three titles are distinguished and appear into individual: Tchi Cum Bah , Superstar and Into the Groove . The album will be sold with 80.000 specimens. Only two years after the exit of their first opus, the group leaves its second album intituté Pop' gum . With a pop sound rock'n'roll very years 1960, the album will have a consequent success in France, and the group will see itself giving its gold first Disque. Four individual will appear: Sunshine , Radio operator Song , Pop' Gum and Little Hily . They are then nominated with the Victoires of the Music 2006 in the category “Groups or Artist Revelation of the public”, gain the MTV Europe Music Awards of the “Best French group” and their round will be crowned by their first Olympia.

Pop' Gum was taken again for the publicity Malabar diffused in 2005.

In 2005, Guillaume Rousé leaves the band to be replaced by Greg Jacks, old beater of No One is Innocent. It is with this new beater that Superbus will leave its third album studio, '' Wow '', on October 16th 2006. Between disco music rock'n'roll énivrant with the accents pop new wave and dirty with the fronts imparables, the album appears surprising and adventurous, surfant on the influences of the Années 1960 and 1980. Four individual will be extracted from it: rock'n'roll with Billy , Butterfly , Lola and Travel the World .

'' Wow '' will be elected “Better pop album rock'n'roll” with the Victoires of the Music 2007, will be crowned Disque of gold and will be recently named platinum disc.

The exit of a live DVD is envisaged. It should be composed of two sets: one, electric, will be composed of the images of the Zenith of Paris (November 23rd, 2007), Rouen (December 7th, 2007) and Caen (December 8th, 2007) and the other, acoustic, whose date of registration was not communicated yet. The exit of the dvd is planned for 2008.

Musical genre

Superbus is influenced by groups like No Doubt, Sum41, Weezer or Sublime. They also recognize that groups such as Blink-182, Dolly, Blondie or The Cure as well as other formations of the Années 1980, but also sometimes of years 1950 are sources of inspiration. Their look is especially inspired by these years there, Jennifer Ayache being large a fan of the Pinup . Jennifer Ayache composes and writes the entirety of the pieces that it is in French as in English.
