Super Mario Kart
Super Mario Kart is a Video game of race left in September 1992 on Super Nintendo. It puts in scene races of karts between the characters of the universe of Mario. Its principal originality comes from the possibility of using various weapons to slow down its adversaries as well as no-claims bonus making it possible to protect themselves or go more quickly. Its business success will allow the development of several continuations. It is thus the first play of the frankness Mario Kart.
Modes of play
Super Mario Kart proposes three modes of play. The mode “ MarioKart GP ” is playable alone where to two (out of divided screen), he proposes to run against seven adversaries controlled by the computer (six if there are two players). Three levels of difficulty are available (including one débloquable). The player can choose among three cuts: the Mushroom Cup (cut of mushroom), the Flower Cup (cut of the flower), and the Star Cup (cut of star). A fourth cut is débloquable if the player finishes the three preceding ones. Each cut comprises five circuits which it is necessary to carry out in the order. The originality of Super Mario Kart lies in the possibility of using many ramassables objects throughout the race. Weapons such as the carapace with homing device or the banana skin deposited on the circuit are used to put its adversaries out-competition for a certain moment and add a key of unpredictability to the race.
The mode “ Time Trial ” makes it possible to only run against the watch, or a friend on the circuit of his choice among those available in the mode MarioKart GP . The weapons and no-claims bonus are decontaminated.
The mode “ Battle ” is particularly original for the time. Playable exclusively two, it makes it possible to face a friend on a closed battle field. Each of the two pilots has three balloons which the adversary must burst using the many no-claims bonus collected on the ground. It is not a question to make the race but to escape the traps from its adversary.
Weapons and no-claims bonus
Many a Weapon S and Bonus is ramassables on the track throughout the race while passing on one of the yellow boxes embedded in the ground, a question mark is registered on these last. It symbolizes the chance because the player cannot know what the box contains.-
the green carapace: it is launched on the circuit and will rebound on the edges of the track until it touches somebody, another object or falls to water. It can also be deposited.

- the star: it temporarily improves the speed and the handiness of the vehicle and makes the player invincible vis-a-vis the weapons of the competitors. The fact of touching a competitor during the action of star will make it whirl and it will have to start again. These effects are temporary.
- the mushroom: get a short acceleration.
- the feather: allows to jump in order to avoid an obstacle or to take a short cut.
- the flash: narrows all the adversaries, which slows down them considerably and above in order to stop them Net enables you moreover to roll to them. The duration of the effects of the flash is almost identical to that of star.
