Sun Xiaodi
Sun Xiaodi was employed in the uranium mine of the Chinese province of the Gansu, which would belong to the historical Tibet, according to the Gouvernement Tibetan in exile. Sun Xiaodi was the witness of the serious radioactive contaminations due to the exploitation of the uranium mine and challenged the authorities during more than 10 years, in particular seeking supports of the population by petitions. The mine was officially closed in 2002, but the local government would have continued to exploit the radioactive ore at ends of personal profits. Sun Xiaodi had been stopped in 2005 then put under house arrest. Its case was defended by ONG Human Rights in Clouded (HRIC). In France, the Network To leave the nuclear power as France-Tibet-Island-of-France expressed on several occasions their support for Sun Xiaodi. December 1st, 2006, Sun Xiaodi received the Price of the future without nuclear power (Nuclear-Free Future Award), considered as the antinuclear price most prestigious of the world.
