Sun Vulcan

Sun Vulcan (太陽戦隊サンバルカン Taiyō Sentai San Barukan ) is Japanese televised series of the kind Sentai in 50 episodes 30 minutes, produced in 1981.

Synopsis

One day, whereas it flies over the North pole, a plane of the Japanese air force is attacked by the empire of the Machines Black Magma controlled by machiavelic Führer Hell Saturn. This last appears then magiquement with the seat of UNO and informed the representatives of the various countries that his empire for submission to reigning on the whole Earth. After its disappearance, the representatives of the various countries vote the right to Japan unanimously to ensure the defense of the world against this threat.

  • Sun Vulcan was the first series of sentai with animalist set of themes.
  • Those which study or know the Japanese will certainly have noticed that the patronyms of Sun Vulcan were not randomly selected. The patronym of first Vul Eagle is Washi , which signfie eagle in Japanese. In the same way, the patronym of Vul Shark is Samejima . However, this patronym was built on the Japanese word Same , which means shark . To finish, the patronym of Vul Panther is Hyō , which means panther in Japanese.

  • In this series, the word San , which is the Japanese pronunciation of the figure 3 , was also attached to the English word Sun , as the small sun present shows it on the combination of Sun Vulcan. It is also in reference to the Japanese pronunciation of this figure, that Sun Vulcan are only three.

  • Vulcan is the English pronunciation of Vulcan , the Roman name of the Greek god of the metallurgy Héphaïstos.

  • Whereas the main feature of the series of sentai is not to be absolutely not dependant

between them, Sun Vulcan makes nevertheless exception: the Hedrian queen réssucitée by the empire of the Machines Black Magma in episode 5 had already controlled the Vader clan in Denjiman before disappearing at the end from episode 50 of the aforesaid the series.
  • In the original version of the series, the monster sent by the empire of the Machines Black Magma in episode 35 is expressed in Japoñol. (mixture of Japanese and Spanish)
