Sun FM is a station of radio Lyons emitting on Lyon and its area on 101.5 M Hz.

History

Sun FM makes its beginnings in 1993 in Lyon like an associative and musical station of Afro-caribéenne type. In 2000, it is repurchased by the Start group and obtains a new authorization of the Superior council of Audio-visual to become a commercial professional radio of format Hip-Hop and R&B. From 2000 2004 have, its audience does not cease increasing and its implication in the local life and the urban cultures continues.

Sun FM is today listened to daily by more 55.000 listeners .

Concept

Sun FM is the intercultural radio of Lyon which gathers each day a public of any origines. Sun FM supports the local initiatives and the cultural events of the region of Lion. Its format is the same one that his/her Parisian big sister Ado FM, all the urban musics is with go (Hip-Hop, R&B, Ragga, Soul, Old School…) Sun FM also diffuses 3 emissions per weekend on the musics of the sun: Mix Africa with Tino (Saturday the 18th h-20h); the Mix Caribbean with Danon (Sunday the 9th h-11h) and Mix Indian Ocean with Marie-OJ (Sunday the 18th h-20h). But the diffused music very mainly remains the musics " urbaines". It should be noted that 78% of the listeners of Sun FM have less than 25 years.
