Sumu-abum

Sûmû-Abûm or Soumou-Aboum is a prince amorrite who makes, towards 1894 av. J-C., of Babylon, at the time town of low importance, the capital of a small independent kingdom.

It maintains the worship of a divinity, at the time secondary, of the family of the god Enki, Mardouk, humble servant of the protective god of the city of Sippar, Shamash. He succeed, in 1881 av. J-C., Sûmû-la-El which is not his/her son and which is the founder of the first dynasty which reigns on Babylon.
