Summary of the Roman History
The Abrégé Roman History is the work of Eutrope, it consists of ten books, which go from the Fondation of Rome at the end of the reign of the emperor Jovien (364). It is a clear account and of an easy style, composed for the instruction of the emperor Valens, it seems.
Its principal merit is to learn, in some lines, which occurred during several centuries. Here what Eutrope in its foreword writes:
Gothico Maximo
Perpetuo Augusto.
