Sukuma

The Sukumas are one of the most important ethnicities of Tanzania. They would represent from 10 to 13% of the total population of the country, that is to say in a little more than 3 million people.

Sukumas speak a language bantoue, the Sukuma. In their language, Sukuma means the Northern .

The principal zones of population are located at the east and the south of the Lake Victoria. The majority of Sukumas are farmers, but a number unceasingly crescent lives in the town of Mwanza, one of the agglomerations knowing more the strong growth of Tanzania.
