Suehiro Maruo

Suehiro Maruo () (born the January 28th 1956 with Nagasaki, Japan) is an artist and Mangaka Japanese.

Biography

After having left the college in March 1972, it settled in Tokyo where it started to work in the binding. At 17 years, Maruo subjected its first manga to the magazine Weekly Shōnen Jump, but he was considered too explicit by the leading team and was rejected. Giving up the manga until November 1980 when it began officially as a mangaka in " Ribon No Kishi" (リボンの騎士, also known under the title: " Princess Sapphire ") at the 24 years age. As from this moment, the young artist thus who been able to continue his vision without too many restrictions on its work. Two years later, the first anthology of Maruo, Barairokaibutsu (薔薇色の怪物; the Monster as a Rose) was published.

Although enough celebrates as a mangaka, in Japan he is also regarded as an artist and its lithographies are sold for high sums. It produced many illustrations for CD covers, posters in concert, thus for magazines, novels and other supports. Some as of its characters were marketed in the form of figurines.

As much of others mangakas, Maruo appears sometimes in its works. It seldom appears without its sunglasses when it is taken in photograph. Very few of its works were published abroad, and some one now available in France, are published by the Black Lizard. Suehiro Maruo is regarded as one of the Masters of the manga of horror, in particular in the Érotico-grotesque kind (エロ - グロ EroGuro).
