The Métro of Sendai is one of the joint transport systems of the town of Sendai to the Japan. It is the tenth network of subway of Japan. It comprises only one line which is managed by the " Sendai-shi Kotsu Kyoku".
The first reflections on the creation of a subway go back to 1965 but construction started only in 1983. The startup take place in 1987 and one prolongation was inaugurated in 1992. Line 1 or line " Namboku" goes from Izumi-Chuo to North to the southern suburbs while crossing by the center town. The overall length of the line is of 15 km of which 12 are in underground. It serves 17 stations including 14 in underground.
The length of the quays is of 130 m, the spacing of the way is of 1.067 Misters the oars comprise 4 cars. The food is done by continuous Caténaire with the tension of 1500 Volts. Each car is inspected every 3 days and is revised every 3 months using an automatic bench of test. Each oar is revised every 3 years. The subway of Sendai is the first practical application of the fuzzy Logique.
A second line, the Tozai line, is in the course of construction. Its completion is planned for 2016. It circulates completely in underground of Is in West, has a 13,9 km length and comprises 13 stations. Like other lines in Tokyo (Oedo), Kabe (Kaigan) and Osaka (Nagahori-Tyokuchi) traction is ensured by a Linear motor .
