Suburb of the Arch
The Faubourg of the Arch is a district of Courbevoie (Hauts-de-Seine in France), from which construction began in the Nineties, in the north of the Arche of Defense. Its territory recovers all the part of Courbevoie located at the West of the Commercial boulevard of the Mission.
It accommodates mainly the Pôle of higher education Léonard-with-Vinci, several buildings and high-rise office buildings as well as many residential buildings.
The developer of this district is the SEMCODAN: company of mixed economy to the capital divided between
- the town of Courbevoie (60%),
- the Case Of the Deposits and Consignment (20%),
- the group Vivendi (20%).
Installations
The district wants to be general-purpose thanks to following installations:- 42 residential Buildings,
- 6 Residences for students,
- 1 university Pole,
- 3 Hotels,
- 6 Turns of offices (of which the Turn T1 in construction),
- 10 Green areas,
- Trade,
- Public administrations (, House Town hall of associations…).
Moreover, one station bearing the name of the district will open in 2009 with the Tram according to the prolongation on the commune immediately close to the Garenne-Doves, then Colombes and Bezons: station Suburb of the Arch. The station Fauvelles will be also in edge of the district.

- 1986 : First studies
- 1988: The first land acquisitions
- 1989: First demolitions
- 1991: Starting of the construction of the first buildings of residences
- 1993: Launching of the building work of the pole of higher education Léonard-of-Vinci which will be inaugurated in 1995
- 1994: Delivery of the first building of housing (the Frigate)
- 1994: Accidental explosion of the CLIMADEF (central of air-conditioning of the district of Defense) the March 30th
- 1996: Beginning of the building site of the first towers of offices (Colisée building and Turn Cedar)
- 1998: Delivery of the first offices (Colisée and turn Cedar)
- 1999: Creation of the footbridge Léonard-of-Vinci, construction of the Tower Égée
- 2002: Construction of the Turn Adria
- 2004: End of land acquisitions and the demolitions
- 2007: Replacement of the footbridge Léonard-with-Vinci
- 2007/2008: Estimated end of constructions and the alteration work of the Suburb of the Arch (Turn T1)
