Accor is a group of services French present in hotel trade, the services with the companies, the travel agencies, the restoration and the management of casinos. At June 30th 2007, Accor counts more than 4000 hotels and 170.000 employees divided in 90 countries out of the 5 continents. Its full capacity number of room is of 450.641 rooms. Accor is the first group Hôtel European ier, with 34% of sound Sales turnover realized in France and 34% carried out in Europe except France.
History of the group
1967 - 1982: The SIEH, French hotel group
In 1967 Paul Dubrule and Gerard Pélisson found the SIEH (Investment company and of Exploitation Hotel), it follows the opening of the first Novotel the same year with Lille. In 1974 is launched the mark Ibis with the opening of the first Ibis in Bordeaux. The same year the SIEH repurchases the mark Courtepaille. In 1975, the SIEH repurchases the mark Mercure and in 1980 the group takes again the group Sofitel being composed at the time of 43 hotels and 2 centers of Thalassothérapie. The SIEH takes the control of Jacques Borel International, then leader of the collective restoration, the restoration of concession and world leader of the emission of Ticket Restoring in 1982. In 1983, the Group Novotel SIEH - Jacques Borel International changes name and becomes the Accor group.
1983 - 20.: Accor, world hotel group
The Accor group created in 1985 the mark Formulates 1, setting up a new concept of hotel trade based on a reduction of the costs of construction at management. The same Accor year enters the capital of the Lenôtre group to a total value of 46%. In 1982, the SIEH repurchases the group Jacques Borel International, present in the restoration of concession, the collective Restauration and especially restoring world leader of the tickets. It is of this bringing together that Accor in 1983 will be born the group. In 1984, Paul Dubrule and Gerard Pélisson are elected " Managers of the année" by the " New Economiste". Accor lance a new concept with the hotels Formula 1 in 1985 before taking again its international expansion with the resumption of Motel 6 with the the United States in 1990. This acquisition makes it possible the group to become the world leader of hotel trade. 1991 and 1997 mark a diversification of the group with the respective acquisition of the International Company of the Sleeping cars and Tourism as of the SPIC which becomes Accor Casinos as well as the nomination of Jean-Marc Espalioux with the head of the group.Consequently the group continues its development by taking again various signs like Red Roof Inns and the signs very top-of-the-range Westin Hôtels residences and Freenet of the Group CGIS (1999), and while launching accorhotels.com and Suitehotel in Europe. The group also takes a participation of 30% of the Club the Mediterranean in 2005.
The group remains however very present on its first branch of industry and has the majority of the basic hotels, average or high range in France and Paris region.
In January 2006, the group changes mode of direction, by adopting a mode of board of directors instead of that of directory and board of trustees. Gilles Pélisson becomes managing director of the Accor group and Serge Weinberg chairman of the board.

In January 2006, FASILD in partnership with the Cabinet of human resources the Maghreb Human Resources (MRH) gave the “Trophy of cultural diversity” in company to group ACCOR.
