Subbuteo

The Subbuteo is a whole of plays of plate simulating of the parts of Football, Rugby, Field hockey and Cricket. True sport today, Subbuteo has had its World cup for three decades.

Rules

The Subbuteo is invented in 1946 by Peter Adolph. The play is exploited a carpet of play of one meter and 35 centimetres out of 90 cm. Each player has eleven players ridden on spherical bases. A Cut of Europe is born as of 1964 and remains the competition of reference until the installation of a world cup in 1974, in parallel of world German. Today, Subbuteo gives place to a crowd of tournaments throughout the world. Most prestigious of these tournaments are named “Grand Prix” and “International”. The most active nations are the Italy, the Belgium, the Germany, the Spain, the France, the Great Britain, the Portugal, the Greece, the Canada, the USA, the Denmark, Malta and Monaco.

World cup

The first official edition of the World cup of Subbuteo is held in 1974 in Germany. 18 nations are represented. Dick Rietveld of the Netherlands is essential finally to 2-1 front the English Mike Dent.

In 1978 in London, a tournament junior is also disputed. In this tournament, it is the Italian Andrea Piccaluga who gains while at the seniors, it is the Belgian Philippe Outmans who beats the 1-0 finally English Nirman Gleave.

In 1982 in Barcelona, the junior Joseph Bonafante of Gibraltar finally gains the tournament while being essential on the shootings with the goal vis-a-vis the French Bruno Debray. In seniors, the Italian Renzo Frignani gains finally 2-1 against the German Becker Horst.

In 1986 in Greece, the Italian Mario Baglietto gains among juniors while Switzerland Willy Hoffman beat finally the Italian Renzo Frignani (5-2).

In 1990 in Italy, 26 nations are represented at the seniors and 22 in the tournament juniors. The Portuguese Vasco Guimares gains among juniors. The Greek Angelo Tsakiris gains at the Seniors in front of the French Frederic Hernandez.

The FISTF then sets up a world appointment each year.
