Subb

Subb is a group of Ska-punk Québécois founded with Saint-Jean-sur-Richelieu.

Their last album, The Motions , left in 2006. The group was made known with the song L.A. Beach Bum on its album Until The Party Ends .

Biography

Formed with Saint-Jean-sur-Richelieu, in the south-east of Montreal, Subb took its take-off whereas the members finished their secondary studies. As of 1992, the group repeated continuously and occurred on the local scene. In 1995, the group records its first models and starts to occur in Montreal and the surroundings.

In 1996, the guy of Subb launch “Two Ban' An' has Split”, an album containing 6 songs of Subb and Thirdfall (another group of St-Jean-On-Richelieu). Appeared on Underworld Records and drawn with only 1000 specimens, this Split CD is the first publication official of the group on a disc and probably only the demonstration known of the group.

It is in 1997 that Subb launches their first complete album: “The Highstep To Hell”. Recorded with the Nicko Studio, one can note the collaboration of some guests, of which amongst other things Jonh de Thirdfall (today in Twenty2).

In 1998, Subb launches the album “Like kids in has field”. This Cd includes/understands a resumption of The Almighty Ten . This album will be the last of the group to be left on the label Underworld Records and is by the fact of even being the first album of JF Lague as a beater of the formation.

In March 2000, Subb returns with a second complete album, “Until the Party Ends”, which is published by the label montréalaise Stomp Records. Made note, the song All About Shane is dedicated to the actress porn of the same name. One notes also two collaboration of friends of the group on the album: Yan (singer-guitarist of the Jaymie group) sings some sentences on the song Sitting Out Another Dance while daN (of Corruption 86) comes to a conclusion about Me And My Maxwell House . The song Brad Nowell wants to be a homage to Bradley Nowell, singer-guitarist of the Sublime group. The song contains some words borrowed from the songs What I Got and Boss DJ of Bradley Nowell

The popularity of the group grows and its statute in full rise enables him to divide the scene with artists of reputation, of which The Vandals, Less Than Jake, Strung Out, Planet Smashers, Bigwig and The Suicide Machines, while turning to Europe. Subb also played Vans Warped Tour of 1999 to 2006 (except 2005), thus occurring with the Canada and the the United States in front of thousands of people.

In 2001, Subb starts again the abum “The Highstep To Hell” on the label Stomp Records. The album will be D-heading “The Ultimate Highstep To Hell” will include/understand the songs of them contained on the albums “The Highstep To Hell” and “Two Ban' An' has Split”. A new song whose models were found, Misbehave , also appears on the album.

In 2002, the group leaves the studio with its third album, “Daylight Saving”. Still appeared on the label Stomp Records, the album will not obtain discounted success and several fans of long dates will be disappointed by the songs with commercial saveure.

In 2003, Subb starts to work on new songs and it is finally at the end of 2005 and the beginning of 2006 that they are recorded. The album “The Motions” appears mid-April. With this opus, the guy of Subb rectified their shooting in order to satisfy the old fans like the new ones. Sometimes melody, sometimes ska or punk-rock'n'roll, this album with the characteristic of aimed at public the vastest while satisfying the fans unconditional of the group. The song Tattoo wants to be a resumption of the song of the same name composed in an original manner by Rancid.
