Sub-Zero is one of the most popular characters of the series Mortal Kombat . There is in fact two Sub-Zeros: the young person and the old man. Both are at the origin of the warriors vêtus the blue ones. They are assassins, but not “ninjas”, even if they appeared under this name in several plays Mortal Kombat . Indeed Lin Kuei is Chinese, just like its clan. They are cryomancian S, a race of Outworld having the capacity to develop and order the powers of the ice, although both were constant in Earthrealm.

Oldest appeared in the first Mortal Kombat. After being killed by Scorpion, his/her younger brother, who has a distinct scar on the right eye, replaced it for all the other plays. Oldest will reappear of the kingdom of the vampires, Netherealm, under the name of Noob Saibot.

The Sub-Zero young person clearly divides many features with his older brother. He gives the impression to be a severe, distant man and cold which approaches its business silently, without drawing a nondesired attention, like his brother. Progressively of time, it evolved/moved. The disparities between the brothers, who were in the past neutral and almost indistinct between them, now developed so manifestly that one could speak about the syndrome of the Mauvais twins ( Evil Twin in English).

While young Sub-Zero was depicts as a young warrior of Flax Kuei which lived in the shade of his/her older brother, it since changed and evolved positively to the more humane sides of the morals questions, contrary to his brother who remained to him bad side. This change of attitude not only reinforced it as Homme, but also outdistanced it its close relations of the clian Lin Kuei of which it thus betrayed the crowned codes of the honor, uniting the rebellion against Shao Kahn and helping Raiden and Liu Kang. More recently, it killed the cyborg assassin Sektor to regain the respect of the clan Lin Kuei and to become the leader, while being involved without slackening to become stronger and more powerful. It is a sure ally of Earthrealm which is laid out to help once necessary, particularly when Raiden needs him. It is without any doubt one of largest and the most powerful warriors of the kingdom of Earthrealm. Charismatic, he is regarded as an enigmatic and silent hero close helping the principal hero of the adventure in his search.

The Sub-Zero young person is easily identifiable by the scar on his face which, according to Mortal Kombat: Shaolin Monks, was caused by Kung Lao which cut its face with its hat to the sharp-edged edges when it confused it with his older brother.
