Sturzelbronn
Sturzelbronn (in German: Stürzelbronn ) is a common French, located in the department of the the Moselle and the area Lorraine. The village belongs to the Regional natural park of the Vosges of North and of the basin of life of the Moselle-is.
Geography
The Village is located in the Vallée Mühlenbach, and the Eastern part of the Pays of Bitche, the country covered, in the extreme North-East of the department of the the Moselle. It is located on old the Roman Voie driving of Bitche at Wissembourg, with the limit of the Alsace.
History
Fragements of Sculpture S of the Gallo-Roman time testify to the Antiquité of the site, already mentioned in 1155 under its current form, meaning spouting out fountain . Old Lorraine ground , the Pays of Bitche is one of the first possessions of the dukes of Lorraine which set up at the beginning of the 12th century a Château with the site of current the citadel and the Abbaye of Sturzelbronn.
Worships
From the spiritual point of view, the Paroisse, which was served by the monks, depends on the archpriest of Bitche since 1804. The parish church, dedicated to holy Elisabeth, is old a Chapelle built in 1764, to which was added a turn-bell-tower in 1858.
Administration
From the administrative point of view, the Village is common Canton of Bitche since 1790.
Demography
The Population, not very important, increased until the middle of the 19th century, passing from 215 inhabitants with 385 in 1851. Since it did not cease decreasing and nothing any more but 205 inhabitants with the Recensement of 1982 counted.
