Study of troop
One calls study of troop an estimate of the longitudinal type which is generally founded on two groups of subjects (troops). A group is subjected to the Condition of interest (for example, people which smokes) and the other group is not it (nonsmokers). With the passage of time, the changes which appear at the subjects of both groups are observed. In this way, it is possible to check if the development of a disease (for example, the Lung cancer) is related to certain conditions (to smoke, in this case). This type of estimate is thus appropriate particularly well to evaluate the risk which is connected to the exposure to dangerous substances for health. With resulting from a study of troop one compares the incidence rate between exposed and not-talks. A study of troop is sometimes called study exposed/not-talks.
Generally, the groups are followed in a prospective way (contrary to an estimate of the type “study of control” ( box-control study ) where the participants are studied in a retrospective way).
With this type of protocol of research, it is important to consider, inter alia, the following points:
-
Comment the troop was recruited? Are there skews?
- Y does it have factors which could explain why certain extreme cases were excluded or included?
- the measuring instruments which were used they were validated?
