Ophélie Gaillard is a Violoncelliste French born the June 13rd 1974 with Paris.

During its formation to CNSM of Paris, it obtains the first three prices: in Chamber music in the class of Maurice Bourgue, in Violoncello in the class of Philippe Muller, where it is then allowed in cycle of improvement, and in violoncello baroque in the class of Christophe Coin. Holder of the Training certificate of violoncello and the license of Musicology of the Sorbonne, it gains in 1998 the third price of the international Contest of violoncello of Leipzig.

Elected in 2003 “revelation instrumental soloist” with the Victories of the classical music, it occurs in recital in the most prestigious rooms and defends the repertory solo of the violoncello, of the Bach series until contemporary creation. Its recordings for the label Ambrosia of the integral of the Bach series, for its sonata and Britten series with the pianist Vanessa Wagner were cordially rewarded by international criticism (Tuning fork of Gold, Choc of the World of the Music, Recommandé by Repertory and Scherzo, **** of Goldberg and Joker of Crescendo), and its recent disc devoted to work for violoncello and piano of Gabriel Fauré was in particular distinguished by The Strad Magazine.

Impassioned old music, and after having worked near Christophe Rousset, Emmanuelle Haïm or John Elliot Gardiner, it creates in 2005 the Pulcinella unit. Their first recording of the integral of the sonatas for violoncello and low continuous of Vivaldi published at spring 2006 in Ambroisie gains the sharpest praises of the press.

In parallel it continues its work on the contemporary repertory and at the side of the current type-setters, and in addition forms a duet with the accordionist Pascal Contet since 2004.

Lastly, she particularly appreciates the meetings between various artistic disciplines and collaborates with dancers like Daniel Larrieu or Sidi Larbi Cherkaoui. Thus it is on the initiative of the creation of the Pierrot spectacle angry with the moon around musics of Debussy and Janacek, which brings together the mimes and actors Cécile Roussat and Julien Lubek and the pianist Delphine Bardin and gains a very sharp success as of the first representations.

She gives recitals and concerts of chamber music in Europe, in England, in Morocco, in the United States, in Japan and in Latin America.

She also devotes herself to teaching at the National school of music of Aulnay-sous-Bois as from 2001 like at the time of master classes during her rounds abroad (Korea, Japan, Latin America).

Its instruments are low Venetian manufactured in 1737 with Udine by the Luthier Francesco Goffriller for the repertory baroque and Bernardel father of 1862 for the romantic and modern music.
