Strong National
The island of the Strong National is an island of Saint-Malo, peninsula with low tide.
In the past called Extremely Royal and also Extremely Imperial (during the years of the Prime Minister and the Second Empire), the Strong National was built in 1689 by the engineer Siméon Garangeau according to the plans of Vauban and on the orders of King Louis XIV, at the same time as the ramparts of Saint-Malo was reinforced, from which it ensured defense. Advanced bastion of the city Corsair, it falls under the whole of the fortifications which went from the Fort the Slat to the point of Varde.
