History

At the time of the War One hundred Year old, the area saw the rides of the Prince Noir.

The castle of Strokes belonged to the Counts de Thézan, who seldom resided at it.

In 1586, during the wars of religion, the castle was invested by the Protestant troops ordered by the duke of Montgomery. After some blows of gun, the garrison went and was carried out to the Martinoles locality.

During the Revolution, the Count de Thézan did not emigrate. Its goods were not seized. The castle, the farms of Roucan and Trédos became properties of his/her daughter, the princess of Mérode. The girl of the latter, duchess of Lévis Mirepoix, succeeded to him. Lévis Mirepoix sold their properties of Strokes after the War of 14-18.

For a few years, a restoration of the vestiges of the castle in progress, has been carried out by private owners and the Research center of the Inheritance of Rieumontagné which acquired two turns.
