Stratigraphic agreement
One speaks about stratigraphic agreement or simply about agreement when a sedimentary formation rests normally on older layers which neither were folded nor rocked before in consequence of an tectonic activity, even if a gap exists between the two units.
One uses also the same term, but without the stratigraphic qualifier , to indicate the parallelism which can exist between eruptive formations and sedimentary layers. Thus, the Sill S are in agreement with the layers which contain them.
The paradoxical term of agreement is discordance .
