Strategic Alignment
In Organization and in the information systems, one calls strategic alignment Information system on the trade the fact of putting in coherence the strategy of the Information system with the strategy of the Entreprise and of planning from the multiannual point of view.

This phase must coordinate itself, according to the cases, with steps of economic Intelligence, Sécurité and management of the Risque S, of interworking (and thus of standardization), of Responsabilité sociétale, even of Communication.

Definition of the requirements
It is a question of defining the Exigences, by taking into account a whole of complex parameters:
- Need S for the market (produced S and services) (opportunities),
- Competition (threats,…).
- Communication, external intern and, context associated,
- Forced legal (European directives in particular),
- total Safety, Risk S and Vulnerability S associated,
- more generally, Requirements of the Partner S and the Recipients, exchange S associated from a point of view with Responsibility sociétale, one of principal being information required to the insurances, contained in the Profile of protection.
One will be able to use a Diagramme of causes and effects, or Diagramme of Ishikawa, to formalize these parameters.
It is necessary to identify the elements of the Information system (principal Donnée S used, applications) which make it possible to reach the objective S in the context of the company to define:
- needs for Interworking related to the Die S, and consequences in terms of use of Metadatum S and Registers of metadata,
- needs for measurement of performance (prospective Instrument panel,…),
- needs for Safety: one of the essential components is the definition of a Security policy of the information systems, in which the choice of the Tiers of confidence and the definition of the common Criteria are of a very great importance, as for the Computer material and with the Logiciel S having to be employed for the Computer security.
One of the essential components of the requirements are the Règles trade .
To identify the axes of commonality
It is this one sometimes calls the axes of analysis in terms of Ingénierie of knowledge.
This task makes it possible to chart the Donnée S, and consequently the applications and flows. It is about idendifier the Métadonnées, and the Structures of corresponding data.

Alignment in the Anglo-Saxon world
In the Anglo-Saxon world, one employs the expression strategic alignment to express this concept.
American employs also the concept of “information insurance” (IA), which is very close to the concepts of Sécurité of the information and which is often employed by error in this direction. The concept of IA goes well beyond the fact of making sure that information of an organization is sure, but embraces a broad sight of the holistic company under the angle of its organization and of the associated risks, in order to avoid them, to limit them and to solve them.
The consultants in “Information Insurance” conceive the role of the IA in the commercial world like a stake of Gouvernance of the company for the leaders of the companies, which requires a clear strategic thought and a positive action to address it. The IA is a strategic approach to make safe the active S of information (Intellectual capital) of a company.
The national dictionary of Information American Insurance defines it as follows:

“measurements which protect and defend the information and the information systems while making sure of their availability, their integrity, their capacity to being authenticated, of their confidentiality, and their not-repudiation”. These measurements include the supply of services of restoration of the information systems by incorporating capacities of protection, detection, and reaction.
