Strait of Northumberland
The strait of Northumberland is a Détroit in the southern part of the Golfe of the St. Lawrence, in the east of the North America. It separates the island from the Prince-Edouard of the continent (provinces of the New Brunswick and the Nova Scotia).
The narrowest part of the strait, the Passage Abegweit between Borden-Carleton and Cape Jourimain (13 km), is crossed by the Pont of the Confederation.
A service of Traversier S connects also Wood Islands and Caribou in the part is strait.
