Henri II of Bourbon , born with Saint-Jean-with Angély in 1588 and died in Paris in 1646, IIIe prince de Condé, governor of Burgundy, governor of the Berry (1612-1615), duke of Montmorency, duke of Albret, Duke of Enghien, and of Bellegarde, First prince of blood, Count de Sancerre (1640 - 1646), Even of France, large huntsman and Large louvetier of France.

Presentation

Wire posthumous of Henri Ier de Bourbon-Cop, Henri did not know his mother Charlotte of Trémouille , this one having been imprisoned following the suspicions of poisoning raised by the sudden death of her husband. It is thus Henri IV which dealt with the education of the young prince. This last was high in the catholic faith.

Henri returns to France under the regency of Marie de Médicis. Like other large aristocrats, it jealous the presence with the capacity of the regent and the influence of his favorites, of which the Italian Concini, with the detriment of that of the princes of blood. It foments princely coalitions against the government starting from 1613, when generosities of the crown are dried up for lack of money. The first catches of weapons of large are concluded with the treaty negotiated by Condé with the regent with Holy-Menehould, the May 15th 1614, by which new pensions are granted by the crown, matrimonial alliance with Spain is suspended and the convocation of the General states is envisaged.

Cop obtains a new treaty with the regent who accepts, by the treaty of Loudun of the May 3rd 1616, his entry in the royal council but, on September 1st, it is stopped and led to the castle of Vincennes where there remain a few years.

Released by Louis XIII, it acts like a trusty servant of the king, taking part in the many campaigns carried out by this one. In 1622, it conducts campaign in the south, takes Nègrepelisse, puts the seat in front of Montpellier but must raise it at the end of six weeks, an epidemic being declared in its camp

In 1638, it orders one of the armies fighting against Spain on the Pyrenean border, but fails the seat of Fontarabie.
