Stola

The stola was the traditional Vêtement women of the ancient Rome

The stola was long a dress worn over a Tunique (the tunica intima , Roman version of the Sous-vêtement). A stola had long handles, those being able to form part either of the stola itself, or of the tunic. The stola was typically girded by Ruban S. It was frequently accompanied by a kind length Châle called palla .

In ancient Rome, it was badly seen for a woman to carry a Toge because she was associated with the prostitution.
