Stock car

The Stock because is a form of automobile race, whose characteristic is to use cars known as of series, origins or standard in theory. However, they in general have only the body which resembles original whereas the Châssis, the Moteur, the Suspension, the Frein S and the other components are especially designed for the races. The Habitacle contains also only one seat for the pilot and some accessories of safety measures. Very popular with the the United States, with NASCAR, or in Europe, with DTM or WTCC, the races proceed in general on closed loops.

The United States

In the United States, the races proceed in general on an oval track varying between 0,4 and 4,2 kilometers length which can be paved or not. The tracks longer than 1,6 km are in general called Superspeedways . The professional races last between 300 and 1000 km. The racing cars run at mean velocities 275,5 km/h but certain races of Nascar can exceed 300 km/h and approach speeds of Formula-1 (350 km/h). It is the case with the races with the Daytona International Speedway in Florida and Talladega Superspeedway in Alabama.
