Musical career
The career of Stochelo Rosenberg starts to take all its dimension in 1980, year of the creation of very famous Trio Rosenberg.
He is today regarded as one of the largest guitarists of the Jazz manouche and occurs in concert on the most prestigious international scenes.
Indicated as of his more young age as the successor of Django Reinhardt by the community manouche to which it belongs, Stochelo made speak a rare technique and his very personal Vibrato punctuates incredible sentences, showing, if need be, rooms with share do not make which technical and expression.
Stochelo can neither read nor to write the music. He learned the Guitare by listening to the discs from Django, by taking again the agreements which he saw his uncles playing at the time of oxen on the camp Manouche. He passed from the hundreds of hours to listen and peel attentively phrased, the dynamics and the timing of this style under the advised and critical eye of his uncle Waso Grunholz, without being concerned with theoretical explanations.
A method of training which requires drive and which made of him the exceptional guitarist that it is today. It happens sometimes that he tests the lack of theoretical knowledge, as when he plays with a Symphony orchestra. But this therefore did not prevent it from playing in concerts of this dimension.
Its style? A style based on listening, the feeling and the keen work of the instrument. A style manouche.
For the recording of its new album " Ready' S Able" who left in 2004, on the label iris music (www.iris-music.com/Harmonia Mundi distribution), Stochelo chose to be surrounded of the youngest guitarist of the Rosenberg clan, his Mozes brother and of Sani Van Mullem, double bass player impossible to circumvent of the scene jazz Dutchwoman.
