Stina Nordenstam
Singer, Composer-songwriter and musician Swedish born on March 4th, 1969 with Stockholm.
Its atypical voice and its manner of singing while sussurant evoke sometimes Rickie Lee Jones or Björk.
After beginnings in a crossbred pop style of jazz ( Memories off has Color , in 1992, and And She Closed Her Eyes… , in 1994), it evolves, with the passing of years, to a more electronic music, sometimes enough sinks (quasi-experimental the Dynamite , in 1996).
After People Are Strange (1998), album of daring and noticed recoveries (in particular for its very particular version of a famous song of Prince, Purple Rain ), it seems to move towards a more open and accessible pop style, with the albums This Is… (2001) and The World Is Saved (2004), with the alleviated climate.
Complete artist (it carries out vidéos and practical photography), Stina Nordenstam is not less discrete, even secret: she practically does not grant an interview, shows herself very little and never gives any concert (similar, in that, with Kate Bush).
A few months before launching the album The World Is Saved , Stina with requested from its fans to write texts, to create drawings and songs in bond with each title of the album. The result is a book limited to 200 specimens entitled The CQD Book
