Stick of landing

The stick of landing is a system installed on the embarked planes on board Porte-avions. It is about a kind of hook fixed under the back part of the plane, intended to hang a Brin of stop at the time of the Appontage.

Invented by Hugh Robinson, it was tested the first time by Eugene Ely when, on January 18th, 1911, he made land his plane on the US Pennsylvania .
