Bible

Astronomy

Also named arbalestrille , this stick is made of 4 perpendicular hammers. It was used for the astronomers to measure the distances from stars, then a little later it was used by the navigators to measure their position at sea, the exact Latitude but not the Longitude.

Its older description would go back to XIVe century, and would have been made by Levy Ben Gerson in 1342. Its invention could go back to Chaldéens.

Botany

The stick of Jacob is a more known plant under the name of Asphodèle. It has as an geographic origin the Crête and the west of the Turkey. The Greek name comes from Asphodelos, the Greek name of Ulysses. It is also called asphodeline lutea or asphodelus luteus or asphodeline .

Magic
