Stick (hockey)

The Stick or Bâton indicates the equipment used to direct the metal disc or the ball to the Hockey, the Roller hockey and the Field hockey.

Of a variable length of 163 cm maximum, it is prolonged by a curved pallet a maximum length of 32 cm. The height of the pallet lies between 5 and 7,5 cm. Composed of wood or various composite materials like the Kevlar or the Glass fiber.

The stick of the guard is slightly different: a little more bent and it pallet is broader.

The “stick” is the French-speaking term used in Europe. The French-speaking term used with the Quebec is “hockey” or the “stick of hockey”, for the reason which the term stick indicates the equipment used in another collective Sport, especially popular in North America: the stick. In Switzerland, one uses also the term “canes hockey”.
