Stevie Ray Vaughan
Stevie Ray Vaughan (born with Dallas the October 3rd 1954, died with East Troy the August 27th 1990) was one of the largest virtuosos of the Guitare electric blues-rock'n'roll of the Années 1980.
Career
After having played in several groups, this native American of Dallas form at the end of the years 1970 the group Doubles Disorder with the beater Chris Layton and the bass player Tommy Shannon. He draws quickly the attention of David Bowie and Jackson Browne, and is engaged as guitarist for some their albums. Bowie locates Stevie Ray for the first time at the Montreux Jazz Festival and the fact of playing on its album Let' S Dance in 1983.The first album of Stevie Ray Vaughan & Double Turbid, Texas Flood , leaves in 1983 - and on which figure the piece Pride And Joy which returns in signal 20 American of the time. The following albums, Couldn' T Stand the Weather (1984) and Drunk to Soul (1985), are a similar success.
Stevie Ray Vaughan goes also celebrates by its stage business. It presents in behavior Cow-boy, with boots and hat, and takes again on its account stylistic devices made famous for Jimi Hendrix, like playing of the guitar with the teeth or behind the head, in the back, etc It includes also pieces of its famous predecessor, like Voodoo Child or Little Wing .
With the catches with drug and alcohol in the middle of the Eighties, it begins a detoxification therapy in Georgia.
For its return, it records the album In Step in 1989, which gains the Grammy Award of the Best disc of contemporary Blues.
Its return on the front of the scene was unfortunately of short duration, since Stevie Ray Vaughan perishes the morning of the August 27th 1990 in an accident of helicopter due to the fog, close to East Troy in the Wisconsin. It returned then from Alpine Valley , a concert hall where it had played earlier in the evening in company of Robert CRAY, Eric Clapton and Buddy Guy.
Family Style , an album in duet with his/her brother Jimmie Vaughan (he also guitarist of blues-rock'n'roll and former member of the group The Fabulous Thunderbirds), leaves in September 1990 after death Stevie, is a popular success. In 1991, The Sky is Crying is the first of long series of posthumous albums with success. Jimmie Vaughan Co-wrote and records thereafter a song in homage to his/her brother and the other guitarists of disappeared blues entitled Six Strings Down .
Stevie Ray Vaughan is buried with the " Laurel Land Park" Memorial; , with Dallas, Texas.

Memory
In 1991, the governor of the Texas Ann Richards declares the October 3rd, date of the birthday of Stevie Ray, the “Day of Stevie Ray Vaughan”.In 1992, Fender leaves “Stevie Ray Vaughan Signature Stratocaster”, a guitar designed with Stevie before its death. In 2004, the model is always in production.
In 1994, a statue in memory of Stevie, “Stevie Ray Vaughan Memorial Rules”, is set up in Auditorium Shores, on the edges of Town Lake with Austin, Texas.
In 2004, Fender leaves “Stevie Ray Vaughan Tribute Model Number One Stratocaster Guitar”, counterpart of the original guitar of Stevie Ray Vaughan.
