Steven Lopez , born on August 18th, 1975 with the Texas, is a American Taekwondo ïste . With two Olympic titles and four championships of the world, he is the representative more decorated with his sport.

Biography

Originating in the Nicaragua, the parents of Steven Lopez emigrated with the the United States in 1972. Born in 1978, Steven begins the taekwondo at the five years age in the family garage. Involved by his brother, it starts to be illustrated in 1997 by gaining the World cup. Two years later, it gains the gold medal with the Pan-American Jeux organized with Winnipeg (Canada). At the time of the Olympic Games of summer of 2000, the taekwondo makes its official appearance with the program like Olympic sport. The American there gains the gold medal and becomes thus one of the first Olympic champions of the history of this sport. He confirms his sacring the following year by obtaining his first world crown, title which he preserves in 2003.
