Steve Harris is a British Bassiste , leader of the group of heavy metal Iron Maiden. It was born the March 12th 1957 with Leytonstone (London).

Nothing predestined Steve Harris with the music. Indeed, the passion of Steve since it is very small is football. He wants to make of it his career (he will be even recruited in a large English team of the time: West Ham). The bass player

After having considered the battery and the acoustic guitar, Steve buys a low copy of then Fender and in 1975 it decides to assemble a group with its pals musicians of the time: Iron Maiden ; this group is today one of the greatest groups of heavy metal of planet and it continues to leave the albums and to make concerts.

The longevity of the group is without any doubt related to the personality of its leader, Steve Harris, which always showed an exemplary determination, which always knew to carry out the group by sometimes making very difficult decisions (in the changes of line up for example) and which always privileged the quality of the music. “Without Steve there would be no Iron Maiden, that it is a certainty it is the heart and the energy source” Janick Gers (guitarist of Iron Maiden).

Steve Harris is before a whole bass player except par which revolutionized the basic play in the Eighties: its play could be connected with a fast gallop hyper to 2 or 3 fingers which really makes it possible to ensure rhythmic out of concrete. Course

Steve Harris made its beginnings with the group Influence , which changed name to become Gypsy' S KIS (1972-1973). It joined then the group Smiler (1973-1974), semi-professional group evolving/moving already in the circuit of the clubs, playing inter alia resumptions of ZZ Top. He proposed his first compositions with the other members of the group, who found them complex. Then Steve left Smiler and formed Iron Maiden in 1975. He is unchallenged leader and one of the two members remaining of the original group with Dave Murray (arrived in 1976…). The other members of the group in 1975 were Paul Day (song), Dave Sullivan, Terry Rance (guitars) and Ron " Rebel" Matthews (battery).

Anecdotes

Toujours Fan of the club of West Ham it raises the Logo of the team on several of her Fender Précision.
It always plays football with the team which it formed within the " Staff" of Maiden of which all the players carry number 7 (of course).

Lauren Harris

His/her oldest daughter Lauren Harris also launched out in the music. Born in 1984, it undertook a mini-round with the autumn 2005, little before the exit of its first album, which it recorded in Miami, produced by Tom McWilliams. The September 26th, his/her Steve father made an appearance surprised on a piece during its concert with the Marquee Club.
