Steve Francis
Steve De' Shawn Francis known as Steve Franchise is a player of American Basket-ball born the February 21st 1977 with Silver Springs, Maryland. Steve Francis is under contract with the team NBA of the Houston Rockets. It is also known under the name of “Stevie Franchise”.
Francis was selected in second position by the Vancouver Grizzlies at the time of the draft 1999 after studies with the Université of Maryland. In front of his refusal to come to play in the very weak team of Vancouver, the player was exchanged against Michael Dickerson, Othella Harrington, Brent Price and Antoine Carr of Houston Rockets.
Stevie Francis is a very fast leader and in spite of its relative small size (1m89) it is capable of an extraordinary relaxation which in fact an invaluable player. Nevertheless, its success with the shooting having dropped and its egoistic play being contradictory with the role of a leader, Francis was exchanged at the summer 2004 with Kelvin Cato and Cuttino Mobley for the players of Orlando Tracy McGrady, Juwan Howard, Tyrone Lue and Reece Gaines.
The February 22nd 2006, Francis is exchange against the players of the New York Knicks Trevor Ariza and Anfernee Hardaway, both having contracts expiring in 2006. The reasons of this transfer are thus financial. Francis with a contract with the maximum wages running until the summer 2009 does not appear any more in the plans of the frankness floridienne from Magic, preferring to safeguard space under the salary course and to give the keys of their rising team to the star of the Conference Is Dwight Howard, like with the young leader Jameer Nelson, two players being related to the frankness by contracts rookies. Francis thus finds in New York at the sides of Stephon Marbury him so known for its reserves to pass the ball.
Francis is sent in Oregon to play with the Trail Blazers of Portland cement on June 28th, 2007 but at the beginning of July, the Blazers repurchase the contract of Francis which is then taken again by its former team of Rockets.
