The sterilization is a method of Contraception which makes use of a surgical procedure (Vasectomie at the man or Ligature of the horns at the woman) and which offers a contraception permanent and reliable.

Although permanent sterilization is the method of contraception the most used in the world, the vasectomy at the man is becoming more favoured because easier and less expensive than the operation at the woman.

Because of their final character, these means of contraception are addressed only to the adults who have already as many children as they wish it, which will never want of child (the or voluntarily without children) and the women who should not have of child for medical reasons. Often, the doctors or gynecologists initially try to encourage their patient (E) S to choose another means of contraception to discourage those and those which could change opinion after the operation.
