Stereoscopic glasses

The stereoscopic glasses are intended for the observation of films, photographs or other images stereoscopic.

Glasses for anaglyphs

The two-tone glasses allow the vision of the Anaglyphe S. the Couleur S of the filter S are always complementary.

They are made filters of Gélatine or coloured film of quality, and exist in:

  • red/green
  • orange/blue
  • vermilion/cyan

These two-tone glasses are very current: one often finds them in Journaux and publications in Anaglyphe S, but also in the boxes of CD-ROM and DVD in relief. The most widespread variety currently is it red/cyan and, by convention, the red filter is intended for the left eye.

They allow the observation of the anaglyphs on Papier, on the screens of computer, Cinéma or Télévision.

Sometimes for certain scientific applications, one finds them yellow mauve/.

Polarizing glasses

They are used primarily for the observation of the projected stereoscopic images in polarized Lumière.

They are made of two crossed polarizing 90° filters, the two directions of polarization laid out in " V" , reproducing the direction of the polarizing filters laid out on the projectors themselves.

They ensure, for low costs, a vision of great quality, preserving all the colors.

Mountings can be out of paperboard, for a single use, or of all kinds, for the personal use.

The polarizing glasses are also used for the observation of the “Vectograph”, polarizing images by themselves, developed as from 1936 by Polaroid.

Glasses with alternate screenings

They call upon the technique of liquid crystals. The alternation of screenings is ordered by a wire or an infra-red receiver.

This type of glasses is adapted to the video in relief and the rooms not equipped with metallized stereoscopic screens.

Comfort is excellent, especially as a big room, for example, Solido, with the Futuroscope of Poitiers.

Prismatic glasses

These glasses (or eyeglasses) consist of two prism S or, generally, of two prismatic lenses, making it possible in each eye to observe the image which is intended to him.

The images are laid out side by side, or, for certain types of applications, one above the other.
