Stephan Pocrain

Stephan Pocrain was born the November 27th 1972 in Paris in XVe district. He is chronicler of Télévision in the emissions One very tested on France 2 or let us not be afraid of the words , a daily program of debate presented by Samuel Etienne diffused on the chain of information uninterrupted I>Télé. Also chronicler in the media pages of the magazine FAKE, it supported the creation of the Representative council of black associations of France from which he is however not member and was spokesperson of the Verts and of No5el Mamère at the time of presidential of 2002.

May 25th, 2006, he announced his candidature for the presidency of the Republic for 2007 before withdrawing on February 8th, 2007 with the profit of the candidature of Ségolène Royal.

Biography

Wire of a teacher and an economist, inhabitants of Guadeloupe and ever married, Stephan Pocrain (who bears the name of her mother) is the last of six children, the only one with being born in Métropole. It took part since its childhood in many associative movements.

His/her father was city council man socialist with Massy in the the Essonne of 1983 to 1985.

He was member of a group Hip-hop of the Essonne, " Damnés of Terre" and founder of association " the world of demain" , popular academy of urban arts founded in 1991. In 1990, it is one of the organizers of the national coordination high-school girl which negotiates an emergency plan for the colleges with the Minister for State education, Lionel Jospin. Then, it starts to militate for UNEF-ID in the years 1991-92, at the same time as with Génération ecology. It obtains a place in the National collective of Unef. It is then made know with “AG” by its great lyrical flights.

It leaves Génération ecology in 1994. In 1997, member of the party of No5el Mamère “Convergences ecology solidarity”, it obtains less than 2% of the voices to the legislative election in the Sixth district of the Essonne. He is parliamentary Collaborateur of No5el Mamère of 1997 to 1998. Candidate with the cantonal elections in 1998, it does not return his accounts of countryside and is declared ineligible during one year. He becomes door word of the Greens in 1998. Its engagements are in particular popular ecology and the defense of the minorities.

Candidate common Green-PS in the Fifth district of the Essonne in 2002 (Gif-sur-Yvette, Ulis, Orsay, etc), it fails with 46,2% of the voices vis-a-vis the candidate UMP.

He does not make accounts of countryside in conformity with the law and in December 2002, the National Commission of the accounts of countryside and financings political pronounces the rejection of its account of countryside and the constitutional council declares it ineligible throughout one one year. Consequently, the Greens lose their public finance with the political parties for this district, that is to say more: 100000 euros.

Having ceased as of June 2002 taking part in the meetings of the managerial college of the Greens where he had been elected after the federal assembly of Toulouse in 2000, he is dislocated of his functions by CNIR in September 2002. It réadhère not with the Greens the following year.

In 2005, he declares in Libération: “I am as legitimate as another to be the candidate of the Greens”. He then applies to accede again to the Verts. The board of directors of the Greens of Île-de-France rejects his application to join at the conclusion of a vote with secret bulletin, by 58%.

He however ambitionnait to be the candidate of the Verts to the presidential election of 2007, saying himself able “to collect the electorate of Besancenot or Taubira”. The “large black mouth”, born with Paris, is then shown médiatiquement at the time of debates concerning colonization and decides in favor of the vote from abroad.

He comes to a conclusion for not at the time of the referendum about TCE.

Candidate declared with the presidential election of 2007, it does not intend to incarnate a Community candidature but “to bring to the ballot boxes those which never vote” and to carry in priority the question of “the equality”. He withdraws his candidature on February 8th, 2007, for lack of signatures of necessary elected officials to be able to take part in the election.

In February 2007, it was called by Bruno Walther, president of the American advertizing agency Draft-FCB, to take the vice-presidency of its French branch, in load of the citizenship and sustainable development.

May 25th, 2007, the former spokesperson of the Greens adhered to the socialist party, after having supported Ségolène Royal during the Electoral campaign of the French presidential election of 2007.

In September 2007, it is put as a police custody to have beaten his partner (seven days of total work incapacity). The magistrates' court of Paris will rule on this offense on November 16th, 2007.
