Stephan Obadia

Stephan Obadia is a French artist, photographer and musician, born in Lyon. It is especially known for its musical work under the pseudonyms Rob Steady, Nudist with Laptop, and Obadia.

After studies in the Art schools, Stephan starts to carry out discrete happenings and events, influenced by artists like Allan Kaprow or Hakim Bey. These happenings generally takes place in the life of the every day, in the street, in supermarkets, offices, schools or at private individuals, and generally are not presented and are not documented as of Article Its photographic work was exposed to Lyon (France), Lodz (Poland), Cluj (Romania) and in several collective exposures to Stockholm (Sweden).

It is by recording bands sounds for its own films that Stephan starts to concentrate on the music. Behind pseudonyms like Obadia, Nudist with Laptop, Rob Steady or Solo Fiasco, it produce 5 eclectic albums which will leave on French, German or English labels. Stephan is regarded as a virtuoso of the sampling/Cut-up, he also plays of the acoustic guitar and tests himself with the Kora (African toothing-stone with 21 cords).
