Stellar

Stellaria is a kind of annual or long-lived herbaceous plants, the stellar , of the family of the Caryophyllaceae . It includes/understands nearly 90 species distributed throughout the world.

They are plants with the inflorescences in ramified cymes, with the white flowers with 5 petals. The petals are not welded and are deeply indented. One in general observes 10 cheesecloths and a pistil with 3 styles.

The name of the kind comes from Latin stella , the star. It refers to the spangled aspect produced by the indented petals.

It is the kind of the Chickweed, or stellar intermediary, morgeline ( Stellaria media ), adventitious against which one fights in the cultures and the garden, or of the holostée Stellaire ( Stellaria holostea ), a plant of the slopes and edges of the sunny ways.
